Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (XMN/ZSAM) serves Xiamen, a coastal city in Fujian Province, southeastern China. It is the main commercial airport for the region and handles a substantial volume of both domestic and international traffic, including significant cross-strait routes to Taiwan.
The airport is operated by Xiamen Airlines and serves as a hub for that carrier, which is a subsidiary of China Southern Airlines. It connects Xiamen to major cities across China as well as destinations in Asia, Europe, and beyond.
Due to the rapid growth of Xiamen's economy and tourism, the airport has undergone multiple expansions. A new greenfield airport, Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport, has been under planning and development to eventually replace or supplement Gaoqi as capacity demands continue to grow.
