The Boeing 767-300 is the stretched variant of the original 767-200, offering greater passenger and cargo capacity while retaining the twin-aisle wide-body configuration. It entered service in 1986 and quickly became one of Boeing's best-selling wide-body aircraft, favored for its fuel efficiency and operational flexibility on transatlantic and transcontinental routes.
The -300 variant seats typically between 218 and 270 passengers in a two-class configuration and features a fuselage stretch of approximately 6.4 meters compared to the 767-200. It is powered by either General Electric CF6, Pratt & Whitney PW4000, or Rolls-Royce RB211 turbofan engines.
The 767-300ER (Extended Range) variant, introduced in 1988, significantly boosted range capability and became the dominant sub-variant in commercial service. The aircraft remains widely operated by major carriers around the world, particularly for freight operations following passenger retirements.
