Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), designated by IATA code KUL and ICAO code WMKK, is the main international airport serving Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia. Located in Sepang, Selangor, approximately 50 kilometres south of the city centre, it is one of the busiest airports in Southeast Asia and a major aviation hub for the region.
The airport was designed by the Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa and opened in 1998, replacing the older Subang Airport as Malaysia's primary international facility. It operates two main terminals: the KLIA Main Terminal and klia2, the latter of which serves low-cost carriers including AirAsia and its affiliates.
KLIA serves as the primary hub for Malaysia Airlines and a major base for AirAsia. The airport has consistently handled tens of millions of passengers annually and continues to expand its capacity and connectivity to support Malaysia's growing aviation sector.

Getting to & from
The Express Rail Link (ERL) KLIA Ekspres train service connects the airport to KL Sentral station in Kuala Lumpur city centre in approximately 28 minutes.
