Yonago Kitaro Airport, officially known as Yonago Airport and co-located with Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) Miho Air Base, serves the San'in region of western Honshu, Japan. The airport takes its popular name from the famous manga character Kitaro, created by local artist Shigeru Mizuki, a native of Sakaiminato near Yonago.
The facility handles domestic routes primarily to Tokyo's Haneda Airport and offers limited international services, reflecting the region's modest population and tourism profile. Its dual civil-military role means the airfield is jointly operated by civilian aviation authorities and the JASDF, which bases fighter aircraft there.
The airport serves as a regional hub for Tottori and Shimane prefectures, providing access to attractions such as the Tottori Sand Dunes and Daisen mountain. Passenger volumes are relatively low compared to major Japanese airports.
