Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is the largest and busiest airport in Taiwan, serving as the main international gateway for the greater Taipei metropolitan area. Located in Dayuan District, Taoyuan City, approximately 40 kilometers west of central Taipei, it handles the vast majority of Taiwan's international passenger and cargo traffic. The airport is operated by the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Corporation and serves as the primary hub for China Airlines and EVA Air, two of Taiwan's largest carriers. It consistently ranks among the busiest airports in Asia by passenger volume and cargo throughput. A long-running Terminal 3 expansion project has been underway to significantly increase the airport's capacity. The facility plays a critical strategic role in Taiwan's economy, supporting both tourism and its export-driven technology sector.
