By car is the practical way to reach Park City. The nearest major highway is Interstate 65, which runs north–south through western Kentucky. From I-65, take Exit 48 (Park City/Mammoth Cave) and follow KY-255 west into the community. Nashville, Tennessee is approximately 90 miles to the south; Louisville, Kentucky is roughly 90 miles to the north.
Nearest airports: Nashville International Airport (BNA) and Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) are the most convenient options for fly-drive visitors. Verify current rental car availability at both airports before booking.
Getting Around
A personal vehicle is essentially required to get around Park City and the surrounding area. There is no local public transit.
Within Mammoth Cave National Park, a free park shuttle runs between the visitor center and various trailheads and cave entrances during peak season — verify the current schedule on the NPS website (nps.gov/maca) before your visit. Walking and cycling are possible within the park on designated trails and roads, but distances between points of interest can be significant.
