Aerolineas Argentinas is the flag carrier and largest airline of Argentina, operating an extensive domestic network across the country as well as international routes to Europe, North America, South America, and beyond. Founded in 1950, the airline has played a central role in connecting Argentina's vast and geographically diverse territory.
The airline has undergone significant ownership changes throughout its history, including privatization in the early 1990s and renationalization by the Argentine government in 2008, when it came under state control through the holding company Intercargo. It is currently majority-owned by the Argentine state.
Aerolineas Argentinas operates out of its primary hub at Ministro Pistarini International Airport (Ezeiza) near Buenos Aires, and also maintains a significant presence at Jorge Newbery Airpark (Aeroparque) for domestic and regional flights. The airline is a member of the SkyTeam alliance.
