IndiGo goes long-haul: widebody ambitions and new international routes

IndiGo, long synonymous with A320-family domestic flying, is expanding long-haul international operations with widebody aircraft and extended-range A321XLRs. New and planned routes connect Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru with European and East Asian hubs, competing directly with Gulf carriers for India-origin traffic. Expect a familiar low-frills base fare with buy-on-board extras — but stretched over 8-hour sectors, with a new business-lite product on select aircraft.
