Getting around: The national park operates a free shuttle bus system connecting the visitor center to the main trailheads and the Macuco Safari dock, making a car unnecessary inside the park. Between the city center and the park entrance, public buses run frequently and cheaply along Avenida das Cataratas. Taxis and app-based rideshares (99 and Uber) are widely available for door-to-door transfers, and most hotels offer shuttle packages to the falls, the dam, and the border crossings.

Best time: Visit from March through June, when rainfall keeps the falls thundering at full volume while temperatures remain comfortable and crowds are thinner than peak summer.
