RAF Lossiemouth is a Royal Air Force station located near the town of Lossiemouth in Moray, northeast Scotland. It is one of the United Kingdom's most operationally significant military air bases, serving as the main base for the RAF's Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) operations in the north.
The station is home to several fast-jet squadrons operating the Eurofighter Typhoon, and has historically hosted Tornado GR4 aircraft prior to their retirement in 2019. It also serves as a base for the new P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft operated by the RAF.
As a military installation, RAF Lossiemouth does not operate scheduled commercial passenger services. The IATA code LMO and ICAO code EGQS are assigned for coordination purposes, primarily serving military and government aviation needs.
