Katowice Wojciech Korfanty International Airport (KTW/EPKT) is the primary commercial airport serving the Upper Silesia metropolitan region in southern Poland. Located near the city of Pyrzowice, approximately 30 kilometres north of Katowice, it serves one of Poland's most densely populated and industrially significant regions.
The airport has grown significantly since the early 2000s, driven largely by the expansion of low-cost carriers, particularly Ryanair, which operates it as an important base. It handles several million passengers annually and offers connections to numerous European destinations.
In 2023, the airport was officially renamed to honour Wojciech Korfanty, a key figure in Polish and Silesian history. It is operated by Górnośląskie Towarzystwo Lotnicze (GTL), a regional company with shareholding from local government authorities.
