Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, known as NAS Fort Worth JRB or Carswell Field, is a joint military installation located on the west side of Fort Worth, Texas. It serves as a major facility for reserve components of multiple U.S. military branches, including the Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Army. The site has a storied history dating back to World War II, when it was established as Army Air Forces Plant 4 and later became Carswell Air Force Base, a Strategic Air Command installation. Following base realignment decisions in the 1990s, it was redesignated as a joint reserve base and transferred to Navy jurisdiction. The facility is home to the 301st Fighter Wing, which operates F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft, as well as other reserve and guard units. It is not a commercial passenger airport and does not handle scheduled civilian air traffic.
