Ouadi Doum Air Base is a military airfield located in the Borkou region of northern Chad, situated in the Sahara Desert near the town of Wadi Doum. It has no scheduled commercial passenger service and functions exclusively as a military installation.
The base gained international attention during the Toyota War of the 1980s, when it was occupied and significantly developed by Libyan forces under Muammar Gaddafi as a key strategic outpost during Libya's intervention in Chad. It served as a major Libyan military hub during that conflict.
Following Chad's victory at the Battle of Ouadi Doum in March 1987, Chadian and French forces captured the base, seizing large quantities of Libyan military equipment. The airfield subsequently returned to Chadian control and has remained a military facility.
