Deelen Air Base (ICAO: EHDL) is a military airfield located near Arnhem in the Gelderland province of the Netherlands. Situated within the Veluwe region, the base has served the Royal Netherlands Air Force for decades and is closely associated with the nearby Hoge Veluwe National Park.
The base gained historical significance during World War II, when it was occupied and heavily used by the German Luftwaffe as a major night-fighter control center. After liberation, it was returned to Dutch military use and continued to function as an active air base through much of the 20th century.
In more recent years, Deelen's operational military role has been reduced, and it has transitioned partly to other uses, including general aviation and glider operations. The base is not open to commercial passenger traffic and has no IATA code.
