The Partenavia P.68 is a light twin-engine piston aircraft developed by the Italian manufacturer Partenavia Costruzioni Aeronautiche, based in Naples. It first flew in 1970 and is characterized by its high-wing, twin-boom configuration and large glazed cabin, offering excellent visibility for observation, survey, and air taxi roles.
The aircraft has been produced in several variants, including turbocharged versions and a turboprop-powered variant designated the P.68T. Its robust design and versatile performance made it popular among small regional operators, government agencies, and survey companies worldwide.
Production and type support eventually passed to Vulcanair, an Italian company that acquired the type certificates and continued manufacturing and supporting the P.68 family. The aircraft remains in service in various parts of the world for utility, charter, and surveillance missions.
Notable operators
The P.68 has been operated by numerous small regional and charter carriers, government agencies, and survey organizations, particularly in Europe, Africa, and Australia; no major scheduled airline is a primary operator.
