In the present world with the escalation in the international aviation industry there in a new surge for traveling abroad, be it for business or for leisure. But the sudden growth has led to the emergence of a lot of discrepancies. Generally we love to boast and often project ourselves to our neighborhood as fully knowledgeable over the rules and regulations of Passports and Visa. But however, in reality only a handful of persons are found to be sagacious.
A valid passport is required for traveling abroad, particularly in those countries where there exists an absence of mutual agreement with the country the visitor represents to allow each other’s citizens to travel without this facility. In that case intrusion without a valid passport is liable to punishable offence according to the law of that land. It is this document that awards the person named therein the prima facie citizenship identity of the issuing country, the person's genuineness, due protection and rights including obligation of the visiting country to offer eligible assistance wherever required to the person, and sidewise ensure assistance and safeguard of due interests of the person at the instance of the Embassy/High Commission/Consulate/ liaison office etc of the person's country in the foreign land.
A visa, on the contrary, is a written permission issued by a foreign country allowing an individual citizen to travel to the issuing country. The visa is generally issued by the concerned embassy or consulate of the country to which there shall be the traveling. However, it is to be noted that for each country there is a different type of visa with its own requirements, fee and application forms. 278 Applicants or travelers are required to clarify that they obtain the correct visa for their intended stay in the foreign country. There happens to be a strict requirement that the validity and type of visa issued must be strictly venerated. There have been instances when on the failure to depart the concerned country by the stipulated time as specified on the visa resulted in huge penalty and harassment, often leading to imprisonment in the foreign land.
